Representing Motion on Speed-Time Graphs – To the races
Watch the movie of a simulation showing a race between a yellow car, a red car, and a cyclist. The speed–time graph for the yellow car is displayed. The arrow above each moving object is called a speed arrow. Its length represents the speed of the object.
Transcript / Long description
A movie of a simulation showing a race between a yellow car, a red car and a cyclist. There is a speed arrow above each moving object. The length of the arrow represents the speed of the object. The red car is speeding up most and has the longest speed arrow. The yellow car at the top has a medium speed and there is a speed-time graph with a moderate straight-line slope. The bicycle is the slowest and it has the shortest speed arrow.
